Evaluations

5-foot-11 shooting guard/small forward/point guard. Primarily a shooting guard, but has versatile skill set to also play small forward and point guard. Strong shooter and 3-point threat (35% 3-pointers). Can shoot up to 4-5 feet beyond the 3-point line and comfortable 2-3 feet beyond the arc. Sees court well. Reads teammates and finds them when they’re open. Keeps eyes up court to make down-court passes. Anticipates very well and hits the cutter. Can also drive to hoop with both hands. Right-handed, but actually stronger driving to the hoop with left (also shoots with her left when driving). Creates own space with step-back move, off screens, crossovers, between legs and jab step. Solid ballhandler and can bring ball up court under pressure. When concentrates, can be a strong defender and shut down the opponent’s top player, but working on having more consistency on defense and not letting defense lapse when tired. Vocal leader. Keeps atmosphere light. Strong communicator. Coachable (listens, gives coach eye contact and takes instruction well). Fiery competitor, yet humble with teammates.  Strong work ethic (does basketball workouts 2-3 times/week, speed and agility training 2-3 times/week and does weight-lifting 3 times/week at 6 a.m. before school). Enjoys practicing, doing workouts and training. Excellent student (3.85 GPA). — Jason Lauren, ScoutU Scout, 414-303-7607 (cell), Jason@ScoutU.com London is a competitor. She has developed a skillset to have confidence in herself to handle the ball in the backcourt and facilitate, as well as the ability to play off the ball as a wing or trail in the frontcourt. She is a vocal player, willing to communicate on both ends of the floor. Positionally, she has guard skills, along with the length of a forward — this allows her to play multiple roles on the floor for her team. Her biggest current assets are her vision for the game on both ends and her shooting. She has developed range to the college line with consistency and is working to continue to quicken her shooting release. Offensively, she has good court sense and uses that sense and vision as a spacer, passer and cutter. She can attack the rim with both hands, with the ability to finish with speed or off two in the paint. If defenders want to run her off the line as a shooter? She is willing to use her vision and developing mid-range game to create advantages for her team. Defensively, she can affect the game positively with her communication, vision and length. She is striving for more consistency from herself on defense, as one of her stated goals of improvement. She is always seeking improvement in her own game and our team. She is engaged off the ball and uses her offensive court sense to her advantage defensively: creating tips, deflections and steals. She is willing to both rebound and mix it up inside defensively. London was at her best as a sophomore in our season’s biggest moments in the state tournament, engaging defensively and as a rebounder, being a threat offensively and playing with a confident, consistent mindset, when her team needed it most. I look forward to London continuing to use her experiences positively to reach toward her potential as a player and person. — Mike Zerr, Brandon Valley H.S. coach

London is a 5’11 guard with a lot of potential. She can play both guard spots. Great slasher and good in the open court. Great mid-range shooter and can shoot three. Rebounds well for a guard. Needs to work on ball-handling and finishing through contact.

Message from London

My name is London Geiver, and I am a 2027 guard/wing from Brandon Valley High School in South Dakota. I am 5-foot-11 and 145 pounds. My current GPA is 3.84, and I have not finalized a major yet.   Some things that make me unique are my size, court vision, speed up and down the court, and disruption of the other team’s offense. I am a team-oriented player who is very vocal, with a strong desire to succeed and motivate others. I have a strong work ethic and am focused on continuing to improve my skills, strength and endurance. My summer consists of daily workouts while playing with Network Elite, which has offered me opportunities to travel and compete in numerous tournaments against high-level talent across the Midwest.   I go to the gym 5 days/week for 2-3 hours with my AAU coaches and teammates. My time with them is spent focused on speed and agility training, including game-speed shooting, ball handling, plyometrics and timed runs. My shooting focuses on 3-pointers, mid-range jumpers, and finishing through contact. While at home, I practice my shooting and ball handling for 30 minutes/day. I enjoy playing 2-on-2 with my dad and siblings during the summer in the driveway, and I also do strength and weight training 3 days/week. My academics are a big priority for me, and I have earned Academic Excellence Awards each year at the #2 school in the state. I have a strong desire to be part of a great institution with strong athletics and academics. Off the court, I love to spend time with my friends, family and volunteer at basketball camps.   Thank you for taking the time to review my information. I look forward to talking with you about your program soon!
