Evaluations
Catherine Abbott is a 2024 libero/defensive specialist/setter from Aiken, SC. Libero is the spot she’s most comfortable, but in high school/club she’s played multiple positions. Versatility is one of her strongest attributes. Her passing is solid, whether if it’s a free ball or a down ball, they are on target. Hustle is definitely no problem. If she has to chase a ball down or hit the floor, Catherine is there for her team.
Her serve is a weapon that’s low and hard to various zones. She is very coachable and determined when given any task. Catherine is focused on her craft and doesn’t let anything bother her play. Not only does she push herself on the court, but also boasts a 3.5 GPA in the classroom. Hard work and dedication will take Catherine a long way. Her ability to play multiple positions will make it an easy transition playing at the next level.

The opportunity to speak about Catherine Abbott it is an honor. She is a player who has a high IQ and a good feel for the game. She can anticipate balls well that are hit with any pace or angle. She also has the ability to cover the floor. Her consistency and ability to make passes to any target are definitely strengths of hers.
I feel she moves extremely well – but if there’s an area she can improve – it would be her lateral movement. She is getting better as she gets older in this area. Even though Catherine may not be the most vocal one on the court, she is a leader that definitely leads by example. She has played multiple positions, showing younger girls on the team that being flexible is a great characteristic that coaches love. She is a savvy player who plays hard and displays passion on the court and in the classroom. I feel she would be able to play at the next level and the transition would be easy for her.
